Scotter is a picturesque Lincolnshire village set between Gainsborough (10 miles) and Scunthorpe (7 miles). Meandering through this delightful village is the River Eau, alongside which is the Village Green – a focal point for locals on pleasant summer days as they watch the world go by (as well as the local ducks and the odd kingfisher!). Built around the Parish Church of St Peter, this historical village has much to offer, an award winning Village Hall, Library, Medical Centre, Community Centre, Bowling Green, Post Office – not to mention the three excellent hostelries, the high class butcher/delicatessen/bakery, newsagents, beauty salon, grocery store, hairdressers and florists.
The local village primary school takes pupils from nursery age up to 11 years old. Secondary education is provided by the Huncliff Comprehensive School, Kirton in Lindsey or the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Gainsborough, both of which enjoy an excellent academic reputation.
Despite the charming rural setting of the development, it is also conveniently situated for the modern commuter, being approximately 4 miles from the M180 which links directly to the M18/M1 motorway network. Both the Doncaster and Humberside airports are within easy reach and connections to the national railway network can be accessed via Gainsborough, Doncaster or Retford.
